In a significant step toward reinforcing collective commitment to safeguarding children’s rights nationwide in the Gambia, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Welfare have concluded an online training program directors and senior staff members of the ministry on child rights.
According to the ministry, the training aimed to strengthen institutional capacity, enhancing advocacy for the protection and welfare of children in The Gambia, with participants receiving certificates after training.

”The sessions covered international child protection frameworks, national legislation, and practical strategies to safeguard children against abuse and exploitation,” the ministry of gender said in a statement.
