‎The Research Brigade of the Keur Massar Gendarmerie Company has arrested famous TFM TV presenter Pape Chiekh Diallo, and popular singer Djiby Drame over their involvement in a network of homosexuals.

‎‎According to sources close to the case, 12 suspects were arrested and detained, between February 4th and 6th 2026, including TV presenter Diallo and singer Drame on charges of criminal conspiracy, unnatural acts involving an intentional transmission of HIV/AIDS through unprotected sex, and endangering the lives of others. Doudou Lamine Dieng, a banker, was also arrested after a forensic examination of Djiby Drame’s mobile phone.

‎Follow-up reports published by the Seneweb, a Senegalese media outlet on Saturday evening, were accompanied by the identities of the suspects listed as follows:

‎‎1) P.S.R. THIAM, 20 years old, electrician.

‎2) I. CAMARA, 37 years old, shopkeeper.

‎3) A. DIALLO, 40 years old, tailor.

‎4) M.B. BALDE, 28 years old, administrative assistant at a university. 

‎‎05) M. GNING, 25 years old, student.

‎‎06) S. BA, 22 years old, shopkeeper.

‎‎07) B. KA, 20 years old, student.

‎‎08) B. FAYE, 30 years old, shopkeeper.

‎‎09) B. NDIAYE, 29 years old, hospital porter.

‎10) D. DRAME, 43 years old, singer.

‎‎11) D.L. DIENG, 38 years old, bank employee.

‎‎12) C. A.T. DIALLO, 43 years old, television presenter.

‎‎While homosexuality is not explicitly defined in Senegal laws as such, same-sex relations are prosecuted under Article 319 of the Penal Code, which criminalizes so-called “unnatural acts,” and convictions can carry prison sentences and fines.

‎‎The case drew wide media attention as it included well-known personalities in Dakar. The 12 suspects are currently being held in police custody as investigations continue.
